Lets Help Save our Oceans

Spreading Awareness on the importance of Biodiversity

Why Explore Space, When only 5% of our Oceans have been Explored?

Human Activity
Humans have only been around for an equivalent of 2 minutes of time on earth, yet we have done the most damage out of any other species, with our global footprint equating to the impact of 3 atomic bombs going off per second, for 365 days a year. Our Mission is to educate people on these spine chilling statistics, so we, as the future generation can make efforts to protect out oceans, and our planet.

Education
Even with only 5% of ocean knowledge, humans have discovered 250,000 marine species, and over a million marine plants. The ocean is so extraordinarily dense with life, and our mission is to shed light on the under appreciated, unknown species who are just as crucial to the ecosystem as any other.

Action
This is an extremely real issue. If this doesn’t affect you in your lifetime, it will for your kids, grandkids, and the future of all living things on this planet. Scientists suspect if humans do not cut down on pollution, greenhouse gas emissions and overfishing by the twenty-second century, 90% of all marine life will become extinct. We, as the future generations, need to unite to make a change.
"With respect to the ocean being the heart of our blue planet: We are often asked, 'How much protection is enough?' We can only answer with another question: How much of your heart is worth protecting?"
Sylvia Earle
ABOUT US
Marine Bio Exploration
Our key priority is to educate the public on what human activity is actually doing to our oceans, and exactly what we can do/change in our everyday lives to help fix this problem, which as we all know will not simply “go away”. The more younger generations that are well educated on the importance of understanding marine biology, and preserving our marine ecosystems, the more our planet has a chance of surviving the climate crisis.

Our Club/Questions
If you attend Columbia High School in Maplewood, New Jersey, please join our club for future Marine Biologists, which will be starting next fall!
